As a part of our yoga teacher training program, I have invited our trainees to share their thoughts in our Mindful Monday emails. This week, Julia has prepared a special reflection just for you…
In yoga, we think and talk so much about breathing. The more I focus on my breath and build awareness around it, the more I learn… especially about slowing down.
Even amid a busy day or a stressful challenge, I benefit from slowing my breath and thoughts, if not my physical pace. The gift of a slow, intentional pace is to experience life more deeply. If I am rushing, I am LESS likely to consider and connect with others and the world around me. When I carve out pauses and spaces in my day, I am MORE likely to become aware of and experience wonder around the marvels of the world. And, after all… without wonder, what would life be?

Listen | Listen to Saturn by Sleeping at Last to slow your pace for a few moments, enjoy the experience of music, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the wonder of it all.
Try This | A few times throughout your day, stop what you are doing, look around your environment and notice something you have never noticed before. Even in the most familiar of places, we can almost always notice something new and wonderful.
