Yoga is connection — and through connection, community grows.
That belief has shaped Serendipity since day one. We exist to give our neighbors a peaceful, nourishing place to practice yoga, mindfulness, and healing.

From the classroom to the mat.
Liz Smith is a yoga instructor, Reiki Master, and the founder of Serendipity. What began as a search for a gentler way to stay active soon became a lifelong journey of embodied movement, community care, and spiritual exploration.
In 2016, after leaving her role as a third-grade teacher, Liz founded Serendipity in the heart of Homewood-Flossmoor. Her mission was simple yet profound: to create a peaceful, inclusive sanctuary where people of all ages could reconnect — with themselves and with one another.
Today, alongside a team of 13+ devoted teachers and practitioners, she continues to cultivate Serendipity as a welcoming space for movement, breath, stillness, and connection — weaving in her deepening study of classical Ayurveda.
Our mission
Serendipity is founded on the belief that the practices of yoga and mindfulness can transform us from the inside out — giving us the time and space to discover deep connections to our bodies, breath, minds, and hearts.
Inclusive & welcoming
A community for all on the yogic path — every body, every background, every level.
In service of community
We're here to guide others in connecting to their bodies, minds, and spirituality.
Authentic & grateful
We live with purpose and gratitude, and hope to inspire others to do the same.
Safe, clean & serene
Our studio is a calm, orderly sanctuary where you can simply exhale.
