‘Tis the Season

The holiday season is often a time of connection, joy, and gratitude shared with family and friends. Yet, for some, it can bring feelings of stress or loneliness. Whatever this season means to you, the practices of yoga and mindfulness offer a gentle way to navigate it with self-awareness and presence. This week, take a moment to pause and reflect on the things you’re truly grateful for. Write them down, share them with someone you care about, and notice how it feels in your heart. These small acts of mindfulness can bring warmth and peace to your holiday experience.

Inspire | “It’s our souls that are tired, not our bodies. We need nature. We need magic. We need adventure. We need truth. We need stillness… We need to wake up and live.” Brooke Hampton

Reflect | Place a lit candle at eye level about 2-3 feet in front of you. Sit comfortably with your spine straight, and softly gaze at the flickering flame, allowing your eyes to rest on its gentle movement and glow. Let your breath flow naturally as you observe the flame, and each time your thoughts wander, gently bring your attention back without judgment. After some time passes, close your eyes and notice the afterimage of the flame in your mind’s eye. This simple practice soothes overactive thoughts and helps prepare your mind for restful sleep.

Journal | Snuggle up somewhere comfy and cozy, and take some time to write freely about the following: Winter is the season when nautre rests, withdraws, and renews. How can you give yourself space to do the same?
