The Way of Zen

When the world feels overwhelming and stress begins to run the show, I always try to come back to this… Notice, I said I try… I don’t always succeed, but when I do, I tend to feel much better.

The Way of Zen

Do one thing at a time.

Do things slowly and mindfully. Connect deeply with people and nature.

Meditate frequently.

Appreciate silence.

Expect nothing.

Be grateful for everything

Observe without judgement.

Consume less, create more.

Let go of fears and desires.

Listen to understand, not to respond.

Be patient and generous.

Love deeply.

Live simply.

Inspire | “The concept that everything is on a spectrum, and that nothing is clearly defined, is just such a clear path to empathy.” Dan Levy

Listen | This chant, Hymn of Healing by Beautiful Chorus, is just what I needed to meditate with this weekend. When we heal ourselves we are more readily able to hold space for others.

Try This | I know that this one-minute mindful breathing practice was originally designed for kids, but it works for adults too!
