For me, daily walks are a non-negotiable, necessity. Sometimes my walks are mindfully slow. Others are full of purpose. Either way, one daily, moderately paced, 30-minute walk can not only make you feel better physically and mentally but also strengthens the neural connections important for emotional processing, problem-solving, and memory. Plus, science suggests that a daily stroll may even lower the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
This week, I invite you to lace up your shoes, get outside, and enjoy a leisurely walk while showing your brain some love.

Try This | Create some distraction-free time so you can rest. Turn off or silence your phone. Sit or lay quietly. Do your best to do nothing for anywhere from 6 to 60 minutes. Notice how you feel while you rest and when you decide to start moving again.
