Spring Cleaning

As the season shifts to spring, nature reminds us of the power of renewal. In yoga, the principle of Saucha (cleanliness) extends beyond physical hygiene to encompass our environment, thoughts, and daily habits. Spring cleaning is an opportunity to embody Saucha by clearing clutter, both externally and internally.

As we dust and declutter our homes, we also create space in our minds, releasing stagnant energy and inviting in clarity. Just as a clean, organized space fosters a sense of peace, maintaining purity in thoughts and emotions cultivates inner harmony.

This week, consider how your surroundings reflect your inner state. Try clearing and cleaning just one small space in your home—a single drawer, one shelf, or a neglected corner. Even the smallest act of Saucha creates a ripple effect, bringing clarity and lightness to both your physical surroundings and your mind.

Inspire | “Our bodies are a piece of the Earth that we each have been given the responsibility to steward.” Dr. Teresa Lau

Listen | Thank you, Tiffanny, for sharing Isn’t Everything a Love Song by Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors and Johnnyswim. The uplifting lyrics are a beautiful reminder of the love woven into everyday moments. 💛

Try This | Find a comfortable seat, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths. Bring your awareness to the sensation of your breath—how it feels entering and leaving your body. Silently repeat to yourself, “I am here, I am present.” Just a few minutes of this practice can help create space in your mind and bring a sense of calm clarity.
