Last week, Jeremy and I had to do something that was quite emotional… We had to say goodbye our foster dog, Beaver. Despite the fact that we were both fond of Beaver, we discovered I was allergic to him, and, if we were being extremely honest with ourselves, we simply don’t have the lifestyle to be the best dog parents at this time.
It was challenging for me to admit that having a dog was just too much. However, it was a beautiful reminder that not every opportunity is the right opportunity, and, not all commitments are lifelong. We are so fortunate to have been able to love Beaver for the short amount of time that we were able to help, but we have to trust that there is a better home out there for that sweet pup.
As you move into this week, take some time to explore which opportunities are right for you, and ask yourself what works and what needs to change. Do your best to find a balance between what is best for you and how to support others.
