Normally, I write my Mindful Monday emails on Monday morning as the sun rises. Now that I am teaching at 6:00am on Mondays, I had to change my schedule a bit, and I am now gathering my thoughts on Sunday afternoon. While much is the same as it might normally be- Charlie is purring on my lap, and I have a hot beverage at hand- there is a different energy in the air.
For me, Sundays have always seemed a bit fraught with anticipation. Not quite relaxing, they are for me the days that I gather my thoughts and set myself up for success in the week ahead. They are days of action, and reflecting feels a bit out of place.
However, as I sit and write, I find that perhaps this change might serve me well. I have slowed to a halt and allowed myself the space to reflect and wind down for the evening ahead. Perhaps a new ritual may be exactly what I need.
