It’s Vata Season

Autumn is Vata season when the world around us embodies the elements of air (wind) and ether (space). As a result, you may be experiencing dry skin, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, difficulty sleeping, and scattered thoughts. If this has been your recent experience, you might want to try any or all of the following to help yourself stay grounded and nourished:

  • Snuggle up… Grab your warmest blanket, take a bath, and layer up.
  • Slow down and ground. Take time to meditate, nap, or read.
  • Enjoy warm, earthy, home-cooked meals like soups and stews.
  • Use heating herbs and spices, like cinnamon, cardamom, and turmeric, to help cultivate inner warmth.

Try This | The next time you feel like you need a bit of grounding, place your hands in water. You may do this in the bath, shower, a sink full of water, or under the faucet. Focus on its temperature and how it feels on your fingertips, palms, and the backs of your hands. Take deep breaths and simply observe.
