From To-Do to Done!

I have had a few items on my to-do list for quite a while… and the longer they have sat there undone, the more intimidating they have become. Yesterday, I took the time to sit down and begin to move through them one by one. Even though they seemed overwhelming at the start, not a single one was nearly as time-consuming or difficult as I had built them to be in my own head. With some time, deep breaths and a little nudge from my support system, what felt insurmountable became quite manageable.

This week, I invite you to do something that feels difficult. Set yourself up for success, and give yourself time and space to tackle a task that has been hanging over your head. Then, explore how it feels to be free of the stress tied to anticipation.

Read | Kindness is more than being friendly, generous and nice. It is a way of being that takes time and practice to refine. It is practicing grace with ourselves and others. Try This | Select one item from your list of things to do. Set a timer for 15-20 minutes and begin. Do what you can to stay fully focused on the task at hand without allowing distractions to deter you. At the end of the time, take a deep breath, stand up, walk away and, if necessary, return to the task later.
