Emotion is nothing more than energy in motion. From joy to apathy and despair, we all have the ability to experience a full array of human emotion. However, society does not always give us permission to express and move through some of the more challenging feelings. As a result, many of us repress the energy of emotions to the point where we may no longer consciously register them. The next time you notice an emotion bubbling beneath the surface, practice these steps:
- notice the emotion
- name it
- accept it
- explore it
- allow the energy to move
- and release
