Be Better.

Be better… There is no shortage of fear, anger, and hatred circulating through human civilization at this moment, and it can be all too easy to get caught up in cycles of perpetuating these experiences. When I start to feel myself being pulled into these destructive, divisive patterns of thought and action, I remind myself that I have the power to do better… to be better… to make my corner of the world a better place. And, if we all took a few moments each day to do just this, what powerful change might we be able to collectively effect?

Inspire | “I think we really need to talk to each other like we’re not always going to be around. And take that extra moment to hug and look into each other’s eyes when we say goodbye. And say I love you as many times as we feel it. And make more time to see each other and be kind to each other; let go of the hang-ups and differences because, in the end, none of that stuff matters. Really, none of it ever did.” S.C. Lourie

Listen | Another great recommendation from one of our fellow yogis! Please take some time to listen to this beautiful episode of On Being with Krista Tippett and Matthew Sanford about the Body’s Grace.

Try This | When you wake up tomorrow morning, use the first few moments to try this practice:

  • Arrange your body in a comfortable position.
  • Stretch and let your attention scan your body quickly.
  • Pay attention to how each part of your body feels.
  • Follow several cycles of inhales and exhales for 1 minute.
