As You May (Or May Not) Know

As you may (or may not) know, here at Serendipity Yoga and Wellness, we hold two blood drives each year. One in the spring, and one in the fall. This is a project near and dear to my heart. Jeremy, my husband, has been donating blood for longer than I can recall, and until her passing, he and his grandma would bond over donations several times each year. Once she could no longer do so, we started our program in her honor.

Thanks to an amazing group of donors, at our most recent drive in May, we collected 21 units of blood… Our goal was 17… If you could not join us at our last drive or would like to help now, please click here to register for another community-sponsored collection. Some upcoming donation events are:

June 1 | Richton Park Public Library | 22310 Latonia Lane Richton Park, IL

June 5 | Goodheart | Wilcox | 18604 W Creek Drive Tinley Park, IL

June 6 | Marquette Bank | 10000 W 151st Orland Park IL

June 14 | Orland Park Public Library | 14921 Ravinia Ave Orland Park, IL

Aug 3 | Woodlands Church | 18300 Governors Hwy Homewood IL

If you use the link above, your donation will track back to the studio and help us enhance our communal impact. If donating blood is not for you, perhaps you can share this link with someone open to it.

Inspire |“I don’t think sadness is always devastating. It can be quite uplifting and joyful as well. Sometimes you have to allow yourself to be sad in order to move forward.” Adele

Did You Know? | The smell of soil increases serotonin. As a result, spending time in the dirt can decrease anxiety and depression. Get outside, dig, and promote your happiness.

Try This | Sometime this evening, take a shower to wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Turn down the lights. Lie down and close your eyes. Invite in silence. Notice your heart beating. Settle down. Breathe deeply. Honor the day, and welcome in rest.
