An Empowering Reminder

I recently stumbled upon this quote. While I do not know the original source, I thought it was an empowering reminder worth sharing.
Reminder: “I don’t need to do what everyone wants me to do. I don’t have to anticipate people’s needs. I don’t need anyone to approve of me. I don’t have to explain myself. I don’t need to feel guilty about my boundaries. I don’t have to say yes if I want to say no. I don’t need to feel bad for staying home. I don’t have to overextend myself to be enough. I don’t need to feel the way someone else feels. I don’t have to minimize my emotions. I don’t need to pretend I’m different than I am. I don’t have to put others before myself.”
Instead, do what you know is right for you. Anticipate your own needs. Approve of your own actions. Honor your boundaries and know that it is okay to say no. Stay home if you want to. Remember you are enough. Notice how you feel and embrace those emotions. Embrace who you are. Take care of yourself unconditionally. While this may not always be easy, it is worth practicing.
Inspire | “Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts. Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again.” Thich Nhat Hanh
Listen | Many of you have asked about where I learn about the unique astrology of each week. One of my favorite resources is the Astrology of the Week Ahead with Chani Nicholas podcast. Give it a listen and see how it resonates with you.
Try This | Before you head to bed tonight, ask yourself and answer the following questions: What did I enjoy today? What am I grateful for today? Have I been the kind of person I want to be? What mistakes did I make today, and what can I learn from them? This mindfulness-based practice can help you unwind and reflect meaningfully on your day.
