Like many, Jeremy and I spent much of the weekend navigating torrential downpours and flooding. In between the storms, though, we made a conscious choice to embrace a spirit of adventure. We went ziplining, played mini golf, explored a couple of new coffee shops, caught a movie, celebrated with friends, and simply enjoyed being together.
It certainly wasn’t the weekend we had planned, but it reminded me that joy doesn’t always arrive when conditions are perfect. Sometimes it appears when we’re willing to laugh at the unexpected, try something new, and be fully present with the people we love.
This week, I invite you to do something simply because it sounds fun. Visit a place you’ve never been, say yes to an invitation, take a different route home, or spend time with someone who makes you smile. Adventure doesn’t have to be big or extravagant to be meaningful. Often, it’s found in the simple moments that invite us to be present, connect with others, and appreciate the life unfolding right in front of us.

Warm a small amount of oil until it is just comfortably warm, then use your fingertips to massage it into your scalp with slow, gentle circular motions, beginning at the crown and working outward. Leave the oil on for 20–30 minutes (or overnight if desired) before shampooing. In Ayurveda, this practice (shiro abhyanga) is believed to calm the nervous system, soothe the mind, support healthy hair and scalp, and help ease anxiety. Even just a few mindful minutes can help you feel more grounded, relaxed, and restored.
