As the weather turns colder and the days grow shorter, there’s a quiet invitation to slow down and reflect. The crisp air invites us to snuggle up by the fire, breathe deeply, and honor the transition of the seasons. It’s a time to embrace the stillness, nourish ourselves, and find grounding amidst the change. Just as nature shifts, we, too, can adjust, bringing more mindfulness into our practice and lives. Let this season remind us of the power of inward reflection and the joy of being present as we welcome the colder months with warmth, presence, and connection.
Inspire | “You may think yourself lazy or flawed. Yet your body is made of almost exactly the same elements as the stars. Your bone composition matches the coral in the seas, and you, my friend, are ruled by the moon and the sun. Whether you like it or not. So no, you are not lazy, Nature is simply pulling you to slow, like the life, the floral and fauna around you. It is not your moment to rise. It is winter; you are wintering. And you are right on time.” Donna Ashworth
Listen | Welcome the arrival of winter weather with the beautiful song, White Winter Hymnal by Birdy.
Try This | Bundle up and step outside. Stand tall, and close your eyes. Inhale deeply, allowing the cool, crisp air to fill your lungs, and exhale slowly, releasing any tension. With each breath, imagine yourself rooted to the earth like a tree, finding stability and calm amidst the changing season. Embrace the stillness of winter, knowing it is a time for introspection, rest, and renewal—just as nature slows down, so can you.
